Thanks & Giving

Thanks & Giving
We have a tradition at our house: giving thanks at the dinner table.  Whoever is able to gather (sometimes it is challenging in a family of 7) at the table to say a prayer and we go around and say what we're thankful for that day
Sometimes we are grateful for the little things, like fuzzy socks, and sometimes we acknowledge our larger blessings: our good health

Today I wanted to share with you what I’m most thankful for this year, 2020, the year that challenged the world and spared no one.  It is on the hardest days we grow the most.

  1. Democracy: I sit here today, on election day - not knowing yet who the next president will be, and I'm grateful to live in a country where we have the freedom to vote. Our Constitution was founded on “Balance of Power”.  Neither party having too much control; everyone having a voice; and where freedom reigns.  I am grateful for and trust that this process will restore itself. Democracy is a gift.

  2. My Mom: I grew up with my parents and one younger brother.  My mother taught us to be independent: have an education; be financially stable; and have a voice.  She also used to tell me she hoped someday I would have only daughters (that was when I was being sassy).  She got her wish (Karma for me).  My daughters are learning the same “scriptures”, and lucky for me, they practice their voices at home (that’s Karma again, but it will come full circle when they are moms).

  3. My Home: In a year where we have been hunkered in for months, how blessed I am to have a home I love, filled with my favorite people (even though… their voices). While everyone can get a little stir crazy here and there, I didn’t mind quarantine. It made us closer, save for a little hard of hearing.

  4.  Nachos...does this need explaining?

  5. You: I never intended to start a business and yet here we are!  Thank YOU, for your ongoing love, support, feedback, and patronage.  The last five years have been a joyous whirlwind of growth and change.

2021 looks to be another leap of goodness for both the world and Jivana.  Stay tuned for news of big blessings, expansion, and opportunity.

May Thanksgiving remind you of your good fortunes big and small, and let faith endure knowing all energy naturally seeks to balance itself Let abundant love, an open disposition, and the gift of indiscriminate acceptance for all permeate your heart, mind and soul

I send you my most sincere wishes for a blessed Thanksgiving.
