Managing Stress With Ayurveda

With parties to attend, gifts to buy, dinners to plan and cook, and family and friends to spend time with, the holidays can leave you feeling scattered and stressed. When routine goes out the window, it becomes difficult to remain grounded and calm. Stress and anxiety is associated with an unpacified Vata Dosha. By pacifying Vata, you can manage your stress this holiday season.

Follow a Routine

Routine is important, especially during the busiest season of the year. Make sure to get good sleep (7-8 hours a night), eat regular meals, and do light exercise, such as going for walks or practicing Yoga.

Ginger Bath

Jump into the tub with some ginger. The warm water will relax and detoxify you, while ginger increases circulation and decreases inflammation. Add ¼ cup of ginger, ¼ cup of baking soda, and ¼ cup of Epsom salt to a warm bath, then soak until you break a sweat (or for at least 15 minutes).

Foot Massage

Treat your body to a luxurious foot massage. Massaging the feet increases circulation, promotes relaxation, and enhances the quality of your sleep – helping to pacify Vata. Use our creamy Wonder Balm to massage your feet. Focus on the entire sole of the foot, and then on each toe. When you’re done, put on socks to seal in that moisture and keep your feet cozy and warm.

Take Time for Yourself

Visualize how you want your holiday season to go and take time to meditate. The holidays are supposed to be about joy – don’t let it slip away from you! By being intentional with what you do during the holidays, you’ll be more in control, rather than letting the crazy holiday season take over.

Enjoy your holiday season with these tips. Prioritizing your well-being will help you be at your best for the ones you love.
